The Day After Christmas

T.K. Coleman's Blog

A day like today can be just as meaningful and exciting as a day like yesterday.

The purpose of holidays isn’t just to celebrate the wonderful traditions that have already been established by others, but it’s also to remind us of our power to lay the foundation for new beginnings in our own times. Holidays are a time when we use ritual and routine to commemorate those who changed the world by their refusal to be defined by ritual and routine.

All our stories, songs, and symbolic actions are nothing less than a creative expression of the fact that the human spirit is ever pressing towards the invention and discovery of new meanings, new patterns, and new breakthroughs.

JFK said ” “We celebrate the past to awaken the future.”

May we all awaken not with sorrow that Christmas has gone, but with anticipation that greater things are still to come.
